Waste Management Seeks Reversal Of Nashville Landfill Decision
Waste Management (Houston, TX) has asked a Davidson County (Tenn.) Chancery Court to review a July landfill expansion decision by Nashville's Metro Solid Waste Regional Board saying the board's rejection of the plan was "characterized by an abuse of discretion and a clearly unwarranted exercise of discretion." The company's Southern Services landfill accepts construction and demolition waste, and received initial approval from the board last year. FAA Requires Approval Of Proposed Indiana Landfill
The Federal Aviation Administration (www.faa.gov) has announced that a proposed landfill development in Marion, Ind. near the Williamson County Regional Airport will require FAA approval. The Kibler Development Corporation contends that the Marion Ridge Landfill proposal will not need FAA approval since it will only be used to dispose of construction waste. New York City Demolishes Brooklyn Incinerator
