In response to recent reports of relatively poor recycling at airports, Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) has introduced legislation (S.3105) that would "expand the scope of the definition of airport planning to include waste management planning." The bill, introduced on March 11, was referred to the Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee.
