TLA-Alliance LLC, a subsidiary of TransLoad America Inc., has acquired Central Waste Inc., which owns the Central Landfill, a municipal solid waste landfill near Alliance, Ohio that is permitted to accept 5,000 tons of waste per day. The 1,200 acre Central Landfill features direct rail service and provides substantial long-term growth capacity.

David Stoller, TransLoad's Chairman and CEO, said that "the acquisition of the Central Landfill is a key step in TransLoad's mission to become the national leader in the 'waste-by-rail' marketplace. Rail is the most economical and environmentally sound means of meeting the demand for long haul transportation and disposal of solid waste, and the Central Landfill is a valuable addition to the growing TransLoad network."
