Waste Pro Awarded Recycling and Waste Collection Contract for 92,000 homes in Gwinnett County (Atlanta) Georgia - The largest such contract ever awarded in Georgia
Gwinnett Clean and Beautiful Services, Inc. has awarded exclusive seven year waste and recycling service responsibility to Waste Pro of Georgia for Zones 1, 2, & 6 totaling over 92,000 homes in the south and in the southeast portions of the County. Waste Pro's proposal passed an arduous selection process. It was focused upon the company's positive customer service record and references, recycling education and achievement, financial stability, and innovative proposal features such as real time, on-line customer service tracking. Additionally, Waste Pro was the only respondent to offer to provide services with vehicles, which operate on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), thereby reducing emissions by ninety percent as compared to diesel fuel. As a result of its unique proposal and excellent record of service in comparably sized communities, the company was chosen by GC&BSI to provide services in the three zones, which encompass 52% of the homes in Gwinnett County.
Speaking of the award, Waste Pro USA Marketing Director, John Bellamy, said "This is a significant move for Gwinnett County and for Waste Pro, and it represents the beginning of a new era in Georgia. Other counties in need of a controlled process for waste and recycling collection service management will surely be interested in seeing if this fits in their jurisdiction."
Waste Pro USA President and CEO, John Jennings, commenting on the contract award, said, "Ours is a simple philosophy: Success follows the combination of quality in all aspects. We believe in acquiring the best equipment in the market and recruiting the best people. Gwinnett County, through Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful Services Inc., has granted us a great opportunity to provide excellent services, to maximize recycling participation, and to be recognized among leading environmental stewards in the state with forward-thinking "green technologies."
Waste Pro, established in 2001 has grown from operating two (2) trucks with five (5) employees to become the Southeast's largest privately held solid waste and recycling collection company currently operating over seven hundred (700) trucks and employing over thirteen hundred (1,300) people. The Gwinnett franchise brings to 81 the number of long-term municipal and county contracts Waste Pro now has with services to over 720,000 homes.
