Starbucks Will Use Recycled-Content Coffee Cups

Starbucks Coffee Company (NASDAQ: SBUX) (www.starbucks.com) has announced that the U.S. Food & Drug Administration has granted the Mississippi River Corporation its first-ever approval to use recycled content in food packaging, specifically Starbucks hot beverage cups. Starbucks expects to convert its hot beverage cups to 10 percent recycled material. Starbucks worked with suppliers Solo Cup Company, MeadWestvaco, and Mississippi River Corporation for two years to obtain approval from the FDA.
