Casella Waste Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CWST), has announced that it will seek to work with officials from the Town of Templeton, Mass. to reach an agreement to remediate the town's old landfill and construct an adjacent facility. The announcement follows Templeton's approval of an article banning out-of-town waste. Town voters have also voted to abolish the town's landfill enterprise fund, and fees paid to the town from the landfill will now go directly into Templeton's general fund. Casella has a contract with the town to excavate the old unlined landfill and build an adjacent double-lined facility.
