Republic Services, Inc. (NYSE: RSG) has reported net income of $62.2 million, or $0.38 per share, for the three months ended September 30, 2002, versus net income of $56.7 million, or $0.33 per share, for the same period last year. Revenue increased 4.7 percent to $609.7 million from $582.6 million for the same period in 2001. Operating income for the three months ended September 30, 2002 was $118.2 million, compared to operating income of $110.4 million for the same quarter last year.
