Rumpke Completes Purchase of Northeast Ohio Assets from Republic Services

Rumpke Acquires Republic Services Assets

Rumpke of Northern Ohio, Inc. formally purchased certain waste collection, hauling and disposal assets from Republic Services, Inc. (also known as Allied Waste or BFI) in Mansfield and the Cleveland area Aug. 3.

The acquisition includes the 300 acre Noble Road Landfill in Mansfield, the Mansfield Hauling District, the Richland County Recycling and Transfer Station, the Harvard Road Transfer Station in Cuyahoga County and a sales office for the region in Mansfield. Rumpke will begin serving approximately 39,000 residential and 3,000 commercial customers in Ashland, Crawford, Holmes, Huron, Knox, Lorain, Marion, Medina, Morrow, Richland and Wayne counties. The purchase also included more than 60 vehicles. Financial terms of purchase are not being disclosed by Rumpke.

Rumpke also looks forward to retaining the many quality employees at the facilities. Rumpke officials are on site meeting with the firms' team members, installing software and re-branding vehicles.
