ABSTRACT:

Until relatively recently, technology and waste management were two concepts not typically mentioned in the same breath. In fact you were wise not to breathe near a waste management operation. With today’s GPS equipped and computerized automated collection vehicles, it is hard to imagine the days when waste was ported in horse drawn carts and ‘tipped’ into open air dumps.
