President and CEO, RJM Waste Equipment Company
Ron McCracken is the President and Chief
Executive Officer of RJM Waste Equipment Company, makers of the "Mighty
Mac" line of solid waste handling equipment in plants in South
Carolina, North Carolina and Arizona. The industry's leading collection
and disposal companies use Mighty Mac non-mobile waste handling equipment
for MSW and recyclable materials handling.
Outside of his own company, McCracken
has demonstrated, in the words of his nomination, "dedication
to the advancement of the solid waste industry through volunteer leadership."
McCracken was the first Membership Chairman of the Waste Equipment
Manufacturers Institute, a subsidiary organization of the National
Solid Waste Management Association.
In 1991, McCracken was also the first
Waste Equipment Technology Association Member of the Year; the first
manufacturing member of the Environmental Industry Association Board
of Trustees in 1994; the first manufacturer to serve as an officer
of the EIA, in 1995; and the first manufacturer member of the Detachable
Container Association Board of Directors in 1997. He is also a volunteer
for numerous industry boards and foundations, advises the Secretary
of Commerce and other government officials, and has, through the Environmental
Technology Trade Advisory Committee, sought to give private industry
a voice in the development and support of a national environmental
technology trade policy. |

and site remediation projects throughout the world. The firm provides
engineering, construction, and contract operations services to private
and public sector clients through a network of more than 35 offices
and 450 professional staff working in the U.S. and abroad.
SCS's recent accomplishments include
an honorable mention in the Environmental Business Journal's 2004
Business Achievement Awards, two consecutive first-place rankings
in Engineering News-Record's list of solid waste engineering consultants,
a ranking of 74 on the Zweig White Hot Firm List, and revenue growth
of 20 percent annually over the last three years.
One of SCS's most notable attributes
is its leadership position in the management of landfill gas and LFG
energy recovery, having been involved in more than 3,000 LFG assignments.
The World Bank recently selected SCS to conduct feasibility studies
of LFG-to-energy projects at 10 landfills in five Latin American countries.
The company has also been commissioned to provide technical services
for a power plant in the People's Republic of China.
In business since 1970, the company
now has a network of 40 offices in 17 states. In 2004, SCS's annual
