Pennsylvania Announces $20 Million in Recycling Grants

The Pennsylvania Environmental Protection Secretary has announced 162 grants totaling $20 million to help finance municipal recycling programs. The programs will provide access to recycling for an estimated 10 million Pennsylvania residents. Awards include $435,000 to Middletown Borough to develop a composting facility on the site of a former Superfund site at the former Olmsted Air Force Base. In Pennsylvania, more than 3,200 recycling and reuse businesses and organizations made more than $18.4 billion in gross annual sales and provided jobs for more than 81,322 employees.
