CVS Holds First-Ever Waste Medication Collection Program

Recently, CVS Pharmacy held a first-of-its-kind free disposal program at one of its Maine stores, inviting consumers to bring in expired or unwanted medication for environmentally safe disposal. Residents brought in 55,000 pills for a total of 50 gallons of unwanted medication. The program was sponsored by the federal EPA via a grant to the Northeast Recycling Council Inc.
