Atlanta Looks For Disposal Alternatives With Landfill Closing

The city of Atlanta is about to lose access to its major landfill, and will have to figure out how to dispose of 250,000 tons of waste each year. A state court order has mandated that Waste Management's Live Oak Landfill in DeKalb County must close by Dec. 1. The city will rely on transfer stations for the next three to five years.
