Eileen Berenyi is president of Governmental Advisory Associates and is author and publisher of major reference books on recycling, landfill gas recovery, and municipal combustion facilities. She is a leading expert in the fields of waste-to-energy, materials recovery, and privatization of government waste management systems.

For more than 30 years she has consulted, taught courses, and published research on public policy, administration, environmental policy and strategic planning. She is highly recognized as an expert in the privatization of government services.

Having received her Ph.D. in 1981, she was a professor of public policy and a Senior Research Associate at the Columbia University Graduate School of Business and served on the New York City Mayor's staff. In that same year, she formed her widely respected firm Governmental Advisory Associates. She has been publishing groundbreaking research and conducting evaluation and research of environmental policies ever since.
