| | 1. | WASTE CONNECTIONS REPORTS FIRST QUARTER RESULTS |
| | | Waste Connections, Inc. (NYSE:
WCN) has announced results for the first quarter 2006. Revenue totaled $190.2 million, marking a 15.6 percent increase over last year's results for the same period. Operating income was $39.2 million, up from $38.7 million in 2005, and net income was $15.7 million.

| | 2. | SEATTLE TRUCKERS REACH TENTATIVE ACCORD WITH ALLIED, WASTE MANAGEMENT |
| | | Seattle truck drivers have reached a tentative agreement for five-year contracts with Allied Waste and Waste Management, averting a potential strike. A union vote will be held later this week for the 600 Seattle-area truck drivers, members of Teamsters Local 174. According to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, the drivers are seeking limits on mandatory overtime and
retaining current healthcare benefits. |

| | 3. | APPLE EXPANDS FREE E-WASTE RECYCLING PROGRAM |
| | | Apple Computer has announced it will expand its free recycling program beginning in June. At no additional cost to the consumer, Apple will accept all unwanted computers, iPods, and other materials purchased through the Apple Online store or any of the company's retail locations. All recycling for Apple will be handle domestically, company officials noted, and no hazardous materials are shipped overseas. |

| | 4. | WE ENERGIES WINS ONYX/VEOLIA STEWARDSHIP AWARD |
| | | We Energies of Milwaukee, Wisc. has won an Environmental Stewardship Award from Onyx Environmental Services for We Energies' commitment to the environment through its recycling programs. We Energies serves more than 1.1 million customers in Wisconsin and Michigan's Upper Peninsula with natural gas, water, and steam. In recent years, We Energies and Onyx have recycled 86,000 lights and over 33,000 pounds of other materials. |

| | 5. | STEEL RECYCLING RATE TOPS 75 PERCENT |
| | | The Steel Recycling Institute has announced that the steel recycling rate has increased to 75.7 percent in the United States in 2005. This total reflects a five percentage point increase in the recycling rate, and marks the highest rate ever recorded in the United States. According to SRI, 76 million tons of domestic steel scrap was charged into furnaces to make new products.

| | | Kimberly-Clark (NYSE: KMB) has released its 2005 Sustainability Report. Available online at www.kimberly-clark.com/aboutus/sustainability2005, the report documents the company's achievements in economic, environmental, and social arenas, and indicates its plans for continued progress in the
future. Last year, the company improved energy efficiency by 19 percent and reduced the amount of waste sent to landfills by 30 percent. The company achieved its goals while reducing its costs by approximately $150 million on an annual basis, as compared to costs in 2000.
