| | 1. | ITEC ACQUIRES TWO WASTE MANAGEMENT RECYCLE AMERICA FACILITIES |
| | | Itec Environmental Group, Inc. (OTC: ITEC.OB) has executed a letter of intent with Waste Management Recycle America LLC, a subsidiary of Waste Management Inc. (NYSE: WMI) to acquire two plastic recycling facilities located in Chicago, Ill. and Raleigh, N.C. Itec and WMRA will also enter into a long-term agreement to supply mixed plastics to Itec's new facilities via WRMA's recycling facility network.

| | 2. | AMERICAN ECOLOGY REPORTS FIRST-QUARTER RESULTS |
| | | American Ecology Corporation has announced that for the quarter ended March 31, 2006, net income was $4.2 million, up from net income of $856,000 in the comparable quarter last year. Operating income was $6.2 million for the quarter, a 355 percent increase over 2005. All four of the company's operating facilities delivered improved operating profitability over the same period in 2005. Revenue for the
quarter increased 71 percent to $21.5 million, up from $12.6 million in the same quarter last year.

| | 3. | COLUMBIA, MO. BEGINS PLANS FOR BIOREACTOR AT LANDFILL |
| | | Columbia, Mo. officials are planning to use bioreactor technology at the city's landfill to break down waste faster, extend the landfill's lifespan, and create gas for a potential LFG power project. A 2004 ballot initiative, approved by 78 percent of Columbia voters, requires 2 percent of the city's energy output to be from renewable sources by 2008. The project is expected to cost
a total of $3 million, and the city is seeking a designer for the bioreactor facility. Construction is expected to be completed by mid-2007 with the facility operational by 2008. |

| | 4. | DOE BEGINS EFFORTS TO CLEAN UP LOS ALAMOS LANDFILLS |
| | | The U.S. Department of Energy is beginning preliminary closure activities at two Los Alamos County, N.M. landfills. The DOE will apply the largest concentration of MatCon-proprietary modified asphalt-in the state to block out water. The landfills contain waste from the county and Los Alamos National Laboratory that was generated between 1940 and 1975.

| | 5. | EPA ROLLS OUT MULTIPLE E-WASTE RECYCLING EVENTS THIS WEEK |
| | | This week, the federal EPA plans to host several regional electronics collection events with the eventual goal of collecting more than 100,000 computers by Earth Day, April 22. The EPA and its partners in the Plug-In To e-Cycling campaign have dubbed this week "Pass It On Week," and will include "100 Percent Day," a national campaign from the Computer Reuse and Recycling Coalition, a group of nonprofit organizations, electronics refurbishers and recyclers, government entities, and electronics manufacturers.

| | 6. | MAINE REQUIRES RECYCLING OF ALL MERCURY THERMOSTATS |
| | | Maine has become the first state to both require recycling of all building thermostats and provide a financial incentive to do so. The law mandates that all mercury thermostats must be recycled, and sets a minimum value of $5 for each unit. Both contractors and do-it-yourselfers must return old thermostats removed in the course of construction or renovation. Manufacturers who sold such thermostats in the state must also develop a recycling program for the devices.
