Sam's Club and
EnviroSmart are launching an effort to broaden recycling efforts.
Eleven Sam's Club locations in Alabama, Arkansas, California, and
Missouri are offering drop-off locations for inkjet and laser toner
cartridges, as well as old cell phones and batteries. Similar programs
are already in place at stores in Michigan and Texas. More

Metal Management
(NASDAQ: MTLM) has announced results for its second quarter ended
Sept. 40. The company had net sales of $378 million and net income
of $16.9 million; this compares to $425 million and $34.1 million,
respectively, for the same period a year ago. During the quarter,
approximately 1.2 million tons of metal were processed and sold or

USA (NASDAQ: WWIN) has reported results for its third quarter ended
Sept. 30, 2005. For the quarter, revenue increased 11.9 percent to
$82.9 million, operating income decreased 2.6 percent to $7.4 million,
and income from continuing operations was $3.0 million, a 12 percent

| | 4. | REPUBLIC SERVICES RELEASES QUARTERLY RESULTS |

Republic Services
(NYSE: RSG) has reported net income of $63.8 million for the quarter
ended Sept. 30, 2005, up from $62.5 million for the same period last
year. Revenue in the quarter increased 4.3 percent to $730.0 million
from $699.9 million. Operating income was $119.4 million, up from

| | 5. | PENNSYLVANIA SUPREME COURT UPHOLDS LANDFILL REGULATIONS |

The Pennsylvania
Supreme Court has upheld regulations of the state Department of Environmental
Protection requiring landfill operators to demonstrate that proposed
landfill construction or expansion will prove more beneficial than
problematic. Two landfill operators had argued that the "harms-benefits
test" was beyond the authority of the state, but the court disagreed.

President of Employee and Customer Engagement. The position was created
