James Thompson
has over 14 years of experience as a consultant and publisher of
information products addressing the solid waste industry. He is
one of the nation's leading experts on municipal solid waste pricing
and business trends. In 1991 he co-founded Chartwell Information
by creating the industry's first newsletter and database of disposal
prices. As president of Chartwell, Mr. Thompson regularly consults
with clients on issues of strategic, economic, regulatory, and policy
issues related to the solid waste industry. Chartwell's clients
include both corporations and municipalities, and agencies of the
federal government. Mr. Thompson has consulted to every major solid
waste management firm in the US.
Under Mr. Thompson,
Chartwell has become the nation's leading Authority on waste pricing,
volume, and capacity levels and trends. He developed a macroeconomic
model that relates solid waste to the economy at large and allows
for the forecasting of data on a local, regional, or national basis.
Mr. Thompson
holds an MBA degree from Vanderbilt University's Owen School of
Management in Nashville, Tennessee, and a BA from Yale University
in New Haven, Connecticut.

is the editor of Chartwell's newsletters, Solid Waste Digest and
Remediation Market Report, and the Solid Waste Yearbook. He has
worked for Chartwell since its incorporation in 1991. He designed
and developed the scope, editorial direction and format of the company's
newsletters. He has been quoted or consulted for his expertise on
the solid waste industry by a variety of major media, including
the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post,
Reader's Digest, and many others.
Mr. Busbee
holds a Master's in writing from the University of Memphis and an
undergraduate degree in English from the College of William and
Mary. He lives in Atlanta, Georgia.
